Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Assessment

It is not necessary for a child to acquire an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Diagnosis, to apply for a Behavioural Assessment to identify the level of skills, strengths and weaknesses, or any developmental and communication delays, etc.
A Behavioural Assessment can be conducted from the age of 12 months if your child shows any signs of difficulties in social interaction, communication, restricted and repetitive interests and behaviours and/or sensory sensitivities.

The first thing we do is to meet with the parents in our Clinic and gather as many information as possible to determine which Assessment System will be used.

Depending on the age of the child and needs, our Board Certified Behavioural Analyst (BCBA) consultant will use one of the available well researched systems (like VB-Mapp, ABBLS-R, AFLS, ESDM, RFT etc.). All of the systems are  parent-friendly assessment tools, curriculum guides, and skills-tracking systems that are designed for children with autism or other developmental delays and, can be used to facilitate the identification of skills needed by your child to effectively communicate and learn from everyday experiences.

With a Behavioural Assessment we can get comprehensive review of more than 500 skills from 25 skill areas including language, social interaction, self-help, academic and motor skills that most typically developing children acquire prior to entering kindergarten or school.

The assessment results allow parents and professionals to pinpoint obstacles that have been preventing a child from acquiring new skills and to develop a comprehensive, highly personalized, language-based curriculum.

Depending of the child's age and behaviour an assessment last from 3-6 hours.

A Behavioural Baseline Assessment can be provided individually to any child without any commitment of using any of our services.
